• New builder mode: Davi.builder lets the rows come from an external source (a State, Bloc, ChangeNotifier, etc.), which also owns their order, instead of being held by a DaviModel. It fits apps that already use a state management solution, and cases like server-side sorting.
  • The rows are passed directly to Davi.builder through rows. When the data changes, rebuild it with a new list, like ListView.builder; don't modify the same list in place.
  • The new DaviController keeps only the state of the columns (order, width and the sort indicator), never the rows.
  • Tapping a sortable header never reorders the rows: it updates the sort indicator and calls onSort, and whoever owns the data applies the order and rebuilds. Without onSort, sorting is disabled.
  • DaviController.applySort updates the sort indicator without touching the data, for example to reflect a sort changed programmatically or to revert a rejected one.
  • The existing mode, based on DaviModel (the default Davi constructor), is now called model mode and works as before.
• Column auto size, only with ColumnWidthBehavior.scrollable: the column width is adjusted to fit its content, limited by maxAutoSizeWidth. Only the header and the cells of the rows visible in the viewport at the moment are measured: rows outside the scroll area are not, so the cost doesn't depend on the number of rows.
  • initialAutoSize does it once, as soon as there are rows to display. After that, the width no longer follows the content.
  • Double clicking the resize area of a column header does it again for that column.
  • autoSizeColumns does it again for all resizable columns, for example after loading new data.
• Row height is now dynamic: each row automatically grows to fit its content, the same way the header row already does, instead of using a single fixed height for every row.
• Cell merging (rowSpan/columnSpan) has been removed. It was one of the main blockers to making row height dynamic, made sorting and horizontal merging harder to reason about together, and added significant internal complexity for a rarely used feature. Removing it keeps the package simpler to maintain.

  • Columns with cellFocusTraversalEnabled: true now support TAB and Shift+TAB across controls built with cellWidget and virtualized rows, revealing the destination with vertical and horizontal scrolling (including pinned columns). Disabled controls are skipped and traversal continues outside the table at its boundaries. The feature is opt-in so custom cells without focusable controls avoid its bookkeeping cost.
  • Cell text with no explicit textStyle (the default) could render invisible/white instead of a visible color, since it bypassed DefaultTextStyle inheritance.
