Adds Bootstrap 5 support to Dart package bones_ui, allowing use of Bootstrap components and CSS.

5.3.0 #

  • BSDateRangePicker: no JQuery anymore.

    • The bundled date range picker (lib/components/daterangepicker) is now vanilla-datetimerange-picker (commit 32608b3): Dan Grossman's daterangepicker 3.1 (the previous one) without JQuery. Same options, behavior and CSS (the open picker renders identically). It still uses Moment.
    • load: doesn't load JQuery.
    • The picker is created with new DateRangePicker(element, config, callback).
    • New jsPicker: the JS DateRangePicker instance.
    • The JS picker is removed (its container in document.body, and its listeners) on a new render, clear and dispose (it used to be left there). Deferred, so a render triggered by the picker callback (e.g. onChange → refresh) doesn't break the picker while it's applying.
    • If daterangepicker.js failed to load, renders only the date text (no error).
    • daterangepicker.js local patches: the 2 previous ones, plus:
      • clickApply/clickCancel: the apply/cancel events dispatched on the picker element, as in the original (the port failed when called without an event).
      • remove: removes the picker container from the document and the window resize listener, and sets isShowing = false, as in the original.
      • outsideClick: "inside the picker" by element identity, as in the original (the port matched any element with the same tag and classes, e.g. another picker field, keeping two pickers open).

  • JQuery is no longer loaded by this package (only with JQuery.load()): call JQuery.load() if the app uses it.

  • README: JQuery and Date Range Picker in the bundled libraries; new "See also" section with the related projects.

  • Tests:

    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_daterangepicker_test.dart: BSDateRangePicker without JQuery, two pickers in the page (loading, JS selection calling back into Dart, opening on click, a click on the other picker field closing the open one, a click inside keeping it open, a new render or clear removing the JS picker, a render from onChange while applying).
    • Integration tests use BSDateRangePicker.jsPicker (not JQuery data).
    • Consistency: the new daterangepicker.js local patches, and no JQuery in it.

    • Bootstrap: 5.3.8 (was 5.3.7): CSS, JS (lib/bootstrap-5.3.8) and SCSS (lib/bootstrap-5/scss, the import path doesn't change), unmodified from the official bootstrap 5.3.8 npm package.
      • Upstream changes: color-contrast() accepts a contrast ratio equal to $min-contrast-ratio, .spinner-* flex-shrink: 0, search inputs cancel button style.
    • Bootstrap Icons: 1.13.1 (already the latest).

    • _variables.scss: Bootstrap 4 values for the variables whose defaults changed (border radius, no responsive font sizes, links without underline, <small>/<code>, <hr>, .badge, .card, .form-control, .table, .navbar, accordion), all !default.
    • _rules.scss: checkboxes and radios without padding, date inputs height, lists indent, inherited .badge/.card colors, .form-control appearance, .table borders (keeping .table-bordered and .table-borderless), .navbar-brand, and the accordion (BSAccordion) with the look of the Bootstrap 4 BSAccordion (.card, .card-header, .btn-link with its hover, .card-body).
    • _class-aliases.scss (optional): the Bootstrap 4 class names (float-right, text-left, ml-2, font-weight-bold, sr-only, badge-pill, badge-primary, no-gutters, form-group, btn-block, ...).

  • Bootstrap:

    • New defaultLoadCss: the load loadCss when not passed, including the calls made by this package (e.g. enableTooltip), so no load call, whoever makes it first, loads the bundled CSS.
    • load: loadCss is now nullable (defaults to defaultLoadCss).

  • Tests:

    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_bs4_compat_vm_test.dart: compiles the compatibility SCSS through its package: URL: variables, rules (after the Bootstrap rules they override), app variables override, class aliases.
    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_default_no_css_test.dart: Bootstrap.defaultLoadCss = false with enableTooltip making the first load.

5.1.0 #

  • Bundled the Bootstrap 5.3.7 SCSS sources (lib/bootstrap-5/scss, unmodified from the official bootstrap 5.3.7 npm package), for apps that compile their own Bootstrap theme: @import "package:bones_ui_bootstrap/bootstrap-5/scss/bootstrap";

    • Only the major version in the path: Bootstrap 5.x updates don't change the import. (The CSS and JS stay in lib/bootstrap-<version>, which busts the browser cache on updates.)

  • Bootstrap:

    • load: new parameter loadCss (default true). With false only the Bootstrap JS is loaded, for apps that compile their own Bootstrap CSS.
    • New PATH_SCSS and isCssLoaded.

  • Tests:

    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_scss_vm_test.dart: compiles the bundled SCSS through its package: URL, with the default variables and with a custom theme; the variables/mixins imports don't output CSS.
    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_no_css_test.dart: Bootstrap.load(loadCss: false) loads only the JS, no Bootstrap CSS applied, later calls keep the first options.
    • Bootstrap.isCssLoaded after the default load.

5.0.1 #

  • Moment.locale: returns false instead of throwing when Moment is not loaded yet.

  • BSDateRangePicker: removed debug prints (config on each render and the selected range on each change).

  • Tests:

    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_unloaded_test.dart: Moment.locale with Moment not loaded.
    • VM: no debug prints in BSDateRangePicker; stale-library check ignores directories with only hidden files (e.g. .DS_Store left by git when switching branches).

  • BSAccordion:

    • Bootstrap 5 accordion markup: accordion, accordion-item, accordion-header, accordion-button, accordion-collapse and accordion-body (was based on card).
    • New option flush (accordion-flush): no outer borders and rounded corners.

  • BootstrapIcons:

    • iconsList updated to Bootstrap Icons 1.13.1 (125 new icons).

  • daterangepicker.js: keeps the local patches (minute rounded to timePickerIncrement; callback with a single array), now documented in the file header.

  • Tests:

    • New bones_ui_bootstrap_bs5_test.dart: Bootstrap 5 without JQuery: load, bundled JS version, CSS loaded first, Bootstrap 5 CSS utilities, tooltips (instances, shown title, enableTooltipOnRender, no data-toggle), BSAccordion (Bootstrap 5 styles, collapse/expand via clicks and the Collapse API, flush computed styles, DOM/component content, item classes/styles) and JQuery.openWindow.
    • Integration: bundled JQuery/Moment versions, Bootstrap 5 JQuery plugins when JQuery is present, Date Range Picker (minute rounding with TimePicker.hoursMinutesBy15, cancel, ranges).
    • Unit: new BSAccordion markup (data-bs-*, no Bootstrap 4 attributes), flush, Bootstrap Icons 1.13.1.
    • New VM tests: iconsList matches lib/icons/*.svg; versions consistent across code, bundled assets, pubspec.yaml, CHANGELOG and README; no stale bundled libraries; daterangepicker.js local patches present; no Bootstrap 4 data attributes in the library.
    • CI: also run VM tests.

Migration from 4.x (breaking changes) #

  • Bootstrap.load() no longer loads JQuery. If you use JQuery.$, call JQuery.load() yourself. (BSDateRangePicker still loads JQuery, which it needs.)
  • Bootstrap 5 data attributes: data-toggle → data-bs-toggle, data-target → data-bs-target, data-parent → data-bs-parent, data-dismiss → data-bs-dismiss, data-placement → data-bs-placement, etc.
    • Tooltips are only enabled for data-bs-toggle="tooltip"; data-toggle="tooltip" is not supported.
  • BSAccordion markup changed (no card, card-header, card-body, btn-link; the header is now the h2 with the <id>-heading-<index> ID). Update app CSS that targets the old classes. Element IDs (<id>-heading-<index>, <id>-collapse-<index>) didn't change.
  • JQuery.openWindow(html: ...): scripts inside html are not executed anymore (innerHTML instead of JQuery html()).
  • Bootstrap 5 renamed many CSS classes (ml-*/mr-* → ms-*/me-*, text-left → text-start, float-right → float-end, font-weight-* → fw-*, badge-* → bg-*, sr-only → visually-hidden, ...). See the official guide: https://getbootstrap.com/docs/5.3/migration/
