### Project History

This project originally used the Drop-In implementation created by Julien Scholz in 2019.

In 2026, the plugin was extensively refactored by Bani Akram to replace the Drop-In integration with the official native Braintree SDKs, adding support for modern payment flows and significantly restructuring the codebase.
