Platform-specific Setup #
Android #
1. Internet Permission
Add the following permission to your app's AndroidManifest.xml
file to allow network access:
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
package="com.example.your_app">
<!-- Add this line -->
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>
<!-- Existing content -->
</manifest>
2. WebView Initialization (Optional)
If you encounter issues with the WebView on Android, you can specify the WebView implementation:
import 'dart:io';
import 'package:webview_flutter/webview_flutter.dart';
@override
void initState() {
super.initState();
if (Platform.isAndroid) {
WebView.platform = AndroidWebView();
}
// Rest of your initialization code
}
iOS #
1. App Transport Security Settings
To allow your app to load web content, update the Info.plist
file:
<key>NSAppTransportSecurity</key>
<dict>
<key>NSAllowsArbitraryLoads</key>
<true/>
</dict>
2. WKWebView Configuration (Optional)
Ensure that the WebView is properly configured in your Flutter project. In most cases, the default configuration is sufficient.
Permissions #
Ensure the following permissions are set:
- Android: Internet access (
android.permission.INTERNET
). - iOS: Network access configurations in
Info.plist
.
Error Handling #
Implement the onError
callback to handle errors during the payment process.
onError: (error) {
// Handle error
print('Payment error: $error');
}
Possible error scenarios:
- Network issues.
- Payment failures.
- Unexpected responses.
Ensure that you provide meaningful feedback to the user and handle errors gracefully.
Important Notes #
- Test Mode vs. Live Mode: Use your BudPay test public key for testing and switch to the live public key for production.
- Currency: Ensure that the currency code you provide is supported (
NGN
,GHS
,USD
, etc.). - Amount Format: The
amount
parameter should be a string representing the amount in the smallest currency unit (e.g., kobo for NGN). - Platform Support: This plugin supports Android and iOS platforms. Web and desktop platforms are not supported.
- WebView Content: The plugin uses a WebView to load BudPay's inline payment JavaScript. Ensure that your app allows WebView content to execute JavaScript.
Troubleshooting #
WebView Not Displaying #
- Ensure that all required permissions are set.
- Check for any errors in the console.
- Verify network connectivity.
Payment Not Processing #
- Confirm that your public key is correct.
- Ensure that the amount and other parameters are valid.
- Check BudPay's service status.
Error Messages #
- Implement comprehensive error handling.
- Log errors for debugging purposes.
- Provide user-friendly error messages.
