flutter_onscreen_logger 3.1.0
flutter_onscreen_logger: ^3.1.0 copied to clipboard
A Flutter package that allows you to display logs on the screen of your app for easier debugging.
3.1.0 #
- Add
OnScreenLog.exportReport()and the public immutableLogReport, with report text, generation/capture timestamps, entry count, and UTF-8 encoding. - Export a stable capture-order snapshot of all retained entries, independently of overlay visibility, display filters, capture state, and build mode, without files, platform UI, clipboard operations, or network access.
- Return valid empty reports and surface formatting failures through the Future.
- Share one report formatter between export and existing native sharing. Preserve entry fields and multiline content; use UTC ISO 8601 report/entry timestamps with subsecond precision and a report-generation heading for both flows.
- Add export examples and regression coverage for snapshots, filters, Unicode, state preservation, side effects, failures, and sharing parity.
This is a compatible minor release adding a public API. Existing logging and
shareAll() signatures, capture defaults, and dependency constraints are unchanged.
3.0.0 #
Added #
- Add independent Dio and HTTP connector packages with example integrations.
- Add structured network log details and compact, expandable request cards with status, duration, and correlated request IDs.
- Add type filters, options for pause/resume, auto-scroll, sharing, and clearing, plus a jump-to-latest button with a count of messages below the viewport.
- Add programmatic capture controls for enabled state, accepted message types, and auto-scroll. Capture is independent of overlay visibility and preserves existing entries for sharing when paused or disabled.
- Add examples for background session capture and production support sharing.
- Add configurable request/response header and body capture for both network connectors, with redaction applied before entries are stored or shared.
- Add an optional
LoggerOverlayWidget(theme: ...)override for custom placement outside the app's themed subtree.
Updated #
- Breaking: require Flutter 3.44.3 or newer and Dart 3.12 or newer.
- Upgrade direct dependencies and Flutter lints to current stable releases.
- Upgrade the example to Gradle 9.7.1, Android Gradle Plugin 9.3.3, Kotlin 2.4.20, Java 17, and iOS 15.
- Replace the checked-in Flutter SDK with a local FVM version and exclude development files from publication.
- Improve logger styling, preserve expansion state across filters, and guard scrolling after the overlay detaches.
- Inherit the host Flutter theme for overlay controls and menus, including runtime
theme changes in plain Flutter and GetX apps. Update setup instructions and the
example to mount the overlay inside the app's
builder. - Keep quick-filter styling independent of the host chip theme, with fixed 8-pixel corners and the existing message type colors.
- Remove the direct
intldependency by formatting the logger's fixed timestamp format withDateTime, avoiding a conflict with Flutter's pinned intl version.
