darchive #
A command line tool to manage archives.
Expands and Compresses files to/from an archive file.
darchive expand --name files.tar.gz --to extracted
TAR (.tar and .tar.gz) can be compressed and expanded. ZIP (.zip) and
XZ (.xz, a TAR archive compressed with xz) can be compressed but cannot be
expanded in 3.0.0. RAR expansion is also disabled until a safe decoder is
available. TAR archives with PAX, sparse, or other extended entry types are
rejected during expansion.
Expansion writes into a private staging directory and replaces the destination
only after decoding succeeds. The default maximum total extracted size is 1 GiB;
use --max-bytes to change it for a trusted archive. --to is required, and
its destination must not be the current working directory. On Windows, the
destination must be on the same volume as LOCALAPPDATA. Tar.gz expansion
requires a working gzip command to verify the archive trailer.
