wrecks library
Wrecks that burn and sink: BurningWrecks places a slick of oil or a heap of timbers in a game's elements, lights it with a blast's fireball, lets it go once the player is far enough past, and publishes each as a BurningWreck; WreckLooks draws the slicks from what was published. FuelCell says which crash breaks a car's tank, by the test it was built to pass.
A library, not a plugin: the elements step the fires and their view draws them, and this registers nothing with the engine.
Classes
- BurningWreck
- A wreck as it is published: what a view draws it from, with no world to ask — the body it is, whether it is a slick of oil, where it lies, how it is turned and whether it burns.
- BurningWrecks
- What a hit leaves burning: oil spread on the water and alight, a heap of timbers on the bank. Fires of the physics core's own heat in a game's elements, lit by a blast's fireball, which burn as long as their fuel lasts and light what stands close enough, and are let go once whoever left them is far enough past.
- FuelCell
- A car's fuel cell as a crash meets it: whole through a blow up to standsTo, the change in speed a crash test drives it through; broken past that, and its fuel let go.
- WreckLooks
- The wrecks drawn: a black film as glossy as water for each slick of oil, placed where BurningWrecks.published says it lies. A heap of timbers is drawn by its fire, which the elements' view draws.
