ragdoll library
Actors that fall as bodies when they die: RagdollCorpses, handed to
ActorVisuals as its corpses, takes a dead actor's skeleton over and
lets it fall in the physics core against the level. Under it,
SkeletonRagdoll makes any scene skeleton a ragdoll by a
RagdollProfile of joint names, and RagdollGetUp fades one back into
the animation.
A library, not a plugin: it is a part of how actors are drawn, handed in where a game builds its visuals, and registers nothing with the engine.
Classes
- RagdollCorpses
- Actors that fall as bodies when they die, in place of a death clip.
- RagdollGetUp
- A fallen body getting up — N1: the animation poses the joints each frame, a get-up clip from the RagdollLying it fell into, and this lays the ragdoll over that pose, all of it at first and none of it after seconds, then takes the bodies out of the world.
- RagdollLying
- How a fallen body lies — see SkeletonRagdoll.lying.
- RagdollPart
- One body of a RagdollProfile.
- RagdollProfile
- Which joints of a rig become bodies, and which ride rigidly on one.
- RagdollTailLength
- How long a RagdollPart is when no joint ends it: a multiple of an earlier part's length, as RagdollPart.tailLength holds it.
- SkeletonRagdoll
-
A
Skeletongone limp: theNativeRagdollbuilt from it by a RagdollProfile, and the writing of its bodies back into the joints.
