Hover on its own preloads nothing on a touch screen, where there is no pointer to arrive. NextFaster preloads a link that has stayed in the viewport for 300 ms: a link flicked past on the way down a page costs nothing, and one that stays long enough to be read is likely to be the next tap. Every page's loader is memoised, so ten links to one route still fetch it once.
