The media types of the request body: one, or a comma-separated list.

A server chooses this method only when the request's Content-Type is one of them (otherwise the answer is a 415). A client sends its body with this Content-Type: MediaType.multipartFormData makes a multipart body, MediaType.applicationFormUrlencoded writes a map or an object as form fields. null: a server accepts any body; a client picks the type from the body (JSON for an object, text/plain for a String, application/octet-stream for bytes).
