The wire versions this build can speak; negotiate picks the highest one both sides share.

Version 2 (1.1.0) roots every session in a signed ephemeral X25519 agreement and carries user data only inside sessions. Version 1 is not spoken any more: its sessions had no forward secrecy and let any holder of the passphrase key write user data, so a 1.0 peer is reported as PeerIncompatible rather than talked to insecurely.
