Defaults to GlassNavPinnedMetrics.backDiameter (44.0). Shared multi-item capsules (GlassBarItemBackground.shared) use buttonSize + (GlassNavPinnedMetrics.slot - GlassNavPinnedMetrics.backDiameter) (buttonSize + 2.0), preserving the 46 / 44 ratio.

Ignored in iPhone Duo's vertical bar strip, where controls use GlassVerticalBarMetrics.controlExtent.
