propertyMiss method

String propertyMiss(
  1. int count, {
  2. required String noun,
  3. required String form,
})

A miss on rendered text that another property would have hit.

screen is the thing you read to decide what to act on, and its w is whatever carries the control's words: the semantics label first — a Slider.label, an icon button's Semantics — and the tooltip when nothing else does. A bare target is rendered text only, so a reader copying a w verbatim lands in a refusal that reads like the control is unreachable, which is the one thing it is not.

noun is what the property is called in prose, form the key that targets it — "semantics label" and label, "tooltip" and tooltip.

Implementation

String propertyMiss(
  int count, {
  required String noun,
  required String form,
}) =>
    'No rendered text matches, but $count $noun${count == 1 ? '' : 's'} '
    'do${count == 1 ? 'es' : ''}. Target it with `{"$form": …}`. A bare '
    'target matches rendered text only, and the `w` that `screen` reports '
    'for a control comes from its semantics label or tooltip when it has '
    'one.';
