Version 3 - STREAM frames carry a byte offset, and are reassembled per stream rather than in connection sequence order.
Not compatible with v2. The eight offset bytes sit where a v2 parser expects the data length, so a v2 peer does not fail on a v3 frame — it reads a plausible wrong length and hands nonsense to the application. Packets carrying an unsupported version are therefore dropped rather than parsed; a version mismatch has to look like an unreachable peer, not corruption.
