The subclass joins the run.
Called with the job already JobStatus.running. An error thrown here
goes to notifyError and the body runs all the same, but the engine of
the domain is left half-way through its own bookkeeping: keep it short
and unconditional. solo, for example, adds the job to its running list
here.
