BoldifyIcon class

A graphical icon widget drawn with a glyph from a font described in an IconData, similar to Flutter’s built-in Icon, but with an extra fontWeight property to allow rendering bold icons or matching the weight of surrounding text.

This is useful when:

  • You want to make icons visually stronger to match bold text.
  • You’re using a variable icon font (such as Material Symbols) and want fine control over stroke thickness alongside fill, weight, grade, and opticalSize.

All other behavior is identical to Icon:

The fontWeight parameter directly maps to the text rendering weight, so any FontWeight constant is valid, from FontWeight.w100 (thin) to FontWeight.w900 (black). For example, to make an icon bold:

const BoldifyIcon(
  Icons.favorite,
  fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
  color: Colors.red,
  size: 32,
)

{@end-tool}
