About Stagehand

Stagehand helps you quickly, easily, and correctly create Dart applications. It generates the scaffolding that you need so you can get productive, faster. Stagehand supports generating both client-side web apps and server-side apps.

WebStorm uses Stagehand, as do other Dart-savvy IDEs and editors. Restart your IDE or editor to get the latest templates.

Get Started

Installing Stagehand requires the Dart SDK, version 1.6 or greater. Once the Dart SDK is on your path, you can install the stagehand pub package:

$ pub global activate stagehand
      

Usage

Stagehand is easy to use from the command line. First, make sure pub scripts are on your PATH. Then:

$ mkdir fancy_project
$ cd fancy_project
$ stagehand web-angular
      

Stagehand contains a highly curated list of templates:

• console-full - A command-line application sample.
• package-simple - A starting point for Dart libraries or applications.
• server-shelf - A web server built using the shelf package.
• web-angular - A web app with material design components.
• web-simple - A web app that uses only core Dart libraries.
• web-stagexl - A starting point for 2D animation and games.
